100-Piece Hair-Care OEM: What Changes the Total Launch Cost?
Compare the total cost of a small hair-care OEM launch: per-SKU minimums, stock packaging, labels, samples, freight and optional customization.

JunChun Beauty Editorial Team · 15 October 2026
For a 100-piece hair-care OEM launch, compare the complete order cost: formula and fill, bottle or jar, labeling, samples, project documents and shipment. The minimum applies per eligible SKU. A stock-pack mature formula can keep the first order simpler, while extra fragrances, sizes or packaging processes may create additional minimums and charges.
Start with a product and a quantity, not a unit price
A useful inquiry identifies the product’s role. A 200 ml liquid rinse and a 300 ml mask presentation involve different formulas, closures and fills. Asking for “100 hair-care products” leaves too much undefined for a meaningful comparison.
JunChun’s low-MOQ route applies to selected mature formulas and compatible stock packaging. It does not mean every professional product, new fragrance or pictured component is available at that minimum. Match the quote to the exact formula and pack.
Count the SKUs before counting the budget
One eligible formula in one size and one fragrance at 100 units means 100 units. A second formula at the same minimum makes 200. Giving both formulas two fragrances creates four SKUs and 400 units if each combination qualifies at 100.
These examples explain the arithmetic; they are not live quotations. A buyer with limited cash can begin with one strong product and add a genuine companion after customer feedback. Two near-identical fragrance variants may consume stock budget without solving a new problem.
Ask for these quotation lines
Formula, fill and packaging
Identify the formula version, net fill, component, closure and label or decoration. Confirm whether the quote includes a box. Compare like-for-like scopes rather than choosing the lower headline unit price with unknown inclusions.
Samples and project work
Ask which sample, packaging prototype, artwork and market-document work is included and which is quoted separately. A mature formula route and a new development project can have different costs and timelines. Do not treat an earlier customer’s sample terms as a universal offer.
Shipment and destination
Provide the destination and preferred shipping basis. Compare packed weight, dimensions and the stated freight scope when available. A local product price cannot be treated as a landed price without those details.
When does a packaging change make sense?
Changing the pack can strengthen shelf identity, but it should solve a commercial or use problem: controlled dispensing of a liquid, easier scooping of a mask or a format the channel actually needs. Packaging-change requests are reviewed from 500 pieces, with component and process minimums confirmed separately.
If a stock bottle and label communicate the product well, a custom component can wait. The extra cash may be more useful for sampling, initial selling materials or maintaining a simpler stock position.
How JunChun can help scope a first order
Send one primary product brief and one optional alternative. JunChun can review available formula and pack routes and prepare a scoped quotation. For example, compare the existing professional mask route with a separately quoted retail presentation, while retaining their actual specifications and minimums.
Approve the sample and component before final artwork. The purchasing decision should be based on the total commitment and the product’s role, not on a 100-piece headline applied to an undefined project.
Frequently asked questions
Can I split 100 units across two formulas?
Do not assume so. The eligible minimum is per SKU; two formulas at 100 units each mean 200 units.
Is a 500-piece packaging change the same as a 100-piece stock-pack order?
No. They are different routes. Confirm the component, decoration and formula requirements in each quote.
Does the unit price include shipping?
Only when the quotation explicitly says so and defines its destination and shipping basis.
What is the clearest first inquiry?
State the product role, market, desired fill, stock or changed packaging, quantity and destination.
