Curl Refresh Mist Pilot: Check Next-Day Feel and Sprayer Recovery
Plan a curl refresh mist pilot around next-day softness, product layering and sprayer recovery, with qualified stock-pack MOQ and practical sample checks.

Approve a curl refresh mist only after repeat use with the routine your customers already follow. A fine spray on day one does not establish soft curls or reliable pump performance after storage.
Define the day-two job
Choose whether the mist should help restyle flattened sections, improve combability or refresh the appearance of flyaways. A refresh mist should not be expected to replace a richer leave-in for every curl pattern. Ask pilot users to record the products used on wash day, whether hair was fully dry and whether water was added. These details help separate product incompatibility from an unsuitable formula.
Use a repeat-application screen
Compare a water control, the coded prototype and the current routine on matched sections where practical. Keep spray distance and delivered mass consistent. Record curl appearance after drying, finger feel, tack and next-morning residue. Repeat the normal routine across several uses. A proposed internal scorecard can use separate ratings for definition, softness and buildup; do not merge them into a vague overall performance score.
Check pump recovery after idle time
Test filled production-intent bottles, not a supplier's water-only demonstration. Note initial priming, spray cone, jetting, output variation and recovery after an agreed idle interval. Review visible residue around the nozzle. If shaking or cleaning is necessary, confirm it is appropriate and realistic for the formula, then include clear directions. A continuous-mist pack is not automatically compatible with every polymer or emulsion system.
Use the existing format before creating another SKU
The current small-site product route is a 200 ml curl refresh mist. Ask for its available mature-formula and stock-pack combination first. A different title does not create a genuinely different product. If the customer needs substantially richer conditioning or stronger hold, compare a milk, cream or foam route rather than forcing every benefit into the same mist. Set the pilot's maximum acceptable complaint rate and pack-failure response before selling.
Buyer FAQ
Does a fine mist mean no buildup?
No. Residue depends on the formula, delivered dose, repeat use and the rest of the routine.
Can we promise no crunch?
Only use supported sensory wording after evaluating the approved formula on the target hair types.
Must we buy a custom sprayer?
No. Start by evaluating compatible stock options; custom components require separate MOQ and testing review.
